Cook once, eat two or three times.

Saves: Big 5 min read

Takeout often happens because there's nothing ready. Cooking bigger batches once or twice a week means there usually is.

Good batch meals

  • Chili, soups and stews
  • Pasta sauce
  • Rice and bean dishes
  • Roast chicken or pork for several meals
  • Breakfast burritos for the freezer

Keep it safe

  • Cool food quickly and refrigerate within two hours of cooking
  • Eat refrigerated leftovers within three to four days
  • Freeze portions you won't eat in time
  • Reheat leftovers until hot all the way through (165°F)
